Hacky Sack

More accurately known as footbag, the sport of hacky sack is an exciting and healthy sport. Playing hacky sack involves keeping a small hand-sewn bag, filled with plastic pellets or sand, off the ground using all body parts except your hands. Many footbag tricks have been created and World Footbag Championships are being held every year.

What is better? Sand or Plastic filling for my hacky sack?

Both filling types have their advantages.

Sand filling is better for stalling the hacky sack because the bag is heavier and shapes easier to your foot. To make sure sand doesnt leak out of your hacky sack, make sure you never do toe pickups, always use your hand to get the footbag off the ground. Also hand wash your footbag occasionaly with cold water, this will keep the panels clean and stop them from breaking down as quickly.

Plastic pellets are good for freestyle tricks because the bag seems to have a lot more 'pop' when you kick it. Pellets are also better for beginners because sand is more likely to leak.
