Everyone has kicked around a crocheted hacky sack (footbag) at some time. Some people even claim that crochet hacky sacks are superior to paneled ones. At Dragonfly Footbags, we don't believe that is true at all. We have kicked around almost every footbag imaginable, 2 panel "pleather" footbags, 32 panel solid net bags, the incredibly supple Abshire bags, and yes, even some crochet footbags, and we have yet to find a crochet hacky sack that compares to hand-sewn multi-paneled footbags.
What is so bad about crochet hacky sacks?
I'm glad you asked, here are the main reasons...
- Crochet hacky sacks are almost impossible to break-in, many times you have to run over them with a car just to break them in. I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to go to that extreme just to break my bag in.
- Crochet bags tend to fall apart easily. The knitting will also open up after a bit and the pellets slowly drain out.
- Crochet bags don't stay round as long as paneled bags. After a bit you will notice your crochet footbag starting to become more football shaped, obviously this makes it useless for any sort of consistent kicking.
So there you have it, the 3 reasons we don't sell crochet footbags. But we do sell a lot of other high quality handmade paneled footbags. A good place to start looking is the Freestyle Footbag section. If you ever have any questions about our products or company, please send us an email at: info@footbagshop.com |
